Delete your Goaly account

Goaly is an app by Goaly Apps Inc. From this page you can ask us to delete your Goaly account and the data associated with it, without reinstalling the app and without signing in again.

How to request it from the web

1. Write to info@goalyapps.com with the subject “Delete my Goaly account”. The button below opens your mail client with that subject already filled in.
2. Include the email address you signed in with and, if you remember it, your username. Those are the details we use to locate the account.
3. Tell us how you signed in as well: email and password, Google, Facebook or Apple. If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, give us the privaterelay.appleid.com address Apple assigned to you.
4. Send the message from that same address whenever you can. If the details are not enough to identify the account unambiguously, we will ask you for something else before deleting anything.

How to request it from the app

1. If you want the full deletion, write to us before you tap the button: while the account still exists we can handle everything in one go.
2. The button is under Settings › Delete account. The app asks for confirmation and runs the two automatic steps described below straight away; the rest we delete once your request reaches us.
3. If you already used it, write to us anyway quoting the username you had and the email you signed in with.

What exactly happens, and what does not

What is deleted immediately

1. The sign-in credential: the account disappears from the authentication system and can no longer sign in.
2. In your user record, the display name, the email address and the username are replaced with placeholder values, the two references to your profile picture are removed, and the record is flagged as a demo account.
3. No document and no file is deleted in this step: the record stays, holding those values. And that same change sets off what comes next.

What is rewritten across the rest of the app, also immediately

1. Goaly keeps your identity in sync across screens: when your user record changes, the change propagates on its own. On deletion, what propagates is the placeholder identity.
2. Your player profile becomes “No user”, with the username “user_demo”, and that substitution reaches the copies the app keeps of it: match events you appear in, team and tournament squads, followers, feeds, highlights and notifications.
3. This is not a deletion. Those rows still exist, with the statistics and the sporting data intact, but they stop carrying your name. It happens within seconds, without a separate confirmation, and it cannot be undone.
4. The player profile picture does not fully disappear in this step: of the two references Goaly keeps, one is cleared and the other stays, so the picture may remain visible until we delete the rest.
5. Two values that are not placeholders travel with that identity: your country and, if your record holds one, your location, copied as they are onto the player profile.
6. If you never created a player profile, none of this happens.

What we delete once we receive your request

1. Whatever the automatic step does not touch: the rest of your user record, your player profiles, the content you published and the files you uploaded.
2. The teams, tournaments and seasons you created, when nobody else depends on them.
3. We write back telling you what was deleted and what was kept.

What we keep, and why

1. Content that tournaments run by other people depend on: results, lineups, match events and standings. When deleting something of yours would break the record of someone else’s competition, we keep it as part of that record and say so in our reply.
2. Billing and entitlement records tied to your purchases. The subscription stays active in the store after the account is deleted, so without them we could not answer a billing dispute or verify a refund.
3. Consent records: which version of the terms you accepted and when, plus your contact and marketing consent preferences.
4. The index that ties the username you chose to your account. The automatic step does not touch it, so it stays until we delete the rest.
5. The minimum needed to meet legal obligations, to handle a billing dispute, or to prevent fraud and abuse.
6. Your purchases are also recorded by Apple and Google, which retain them under their own policies and outside our control.

If you have an active subscription

1. Cancel the subscription first where you bought it, in the App Store or in Google Play. Billing is handled by the store, not by Goaly.
2. Deleting your Goaly account does not cancel the subscription and does not issue a refund: if you do not cancel it in the store, it keeps renewing.
3. If you cannot cancel it, write to info@goalyapps.com before requesting deletion and we will walk you through it in your store.

What to expect after you write to us

1. We confirm by email that your request arrived, and we tell you in that same thread when we are done.
2. We do not give a fixed date: the time depends on what has to be reviewed. You can reply to the thread to ask where it stands.
3. If we need anything to identify the account, we ask for it in that same thread.
